Why did remington discontinue the xhr
When it comes down to it, it wasn't even the triangle shape that bothered me Ok, who am I kidding, it was both. And the stock. They all combined to create an offense to my sensibilities. Joined: Feb SW Virginia. Actually, the brake works really well, especially for varmint hunters who like to see where their bullets land.
It's actually not a full brake, but ports on top, which reduce muzzle jump considerably. I would have bought one but it wasn't available in a LH version. Shoot low Sheriff, they're riding shetlands. I am one of those who have to force myself to not look at it, I desperately want it. Are we sure that the VTR's are discontinued? I don't see any shortage of VTR's anywhere online, nor any indication that they have been universally discontinued. Introduce enough loser ideas, and the successful capitalists will complain too. In fact they recently introduced a couple of new variations.
From the back side while shooting I can't tell a difference between my ported. I can when when I shoot the magnums. I have 2,. I like hunting with the. I've got one in I don't mind the triangle but wish the porting was gone. Mine loves light for caliber bullets. I'd buy it again I guess, Originally Posted by bartman. SW Montana. I have two Remington Rifles with the triangle style barrel and they both shoot quite well - thank you. I hope Remington keeps their "innovative mindset" for a long time to come.
I own a number of Remingtons "innovative firearms" that have performed exceptionally well - and some of them have been discontinued from the Remington lineup. A few examples: 1 Remington in Remington - shoots wonderfully well! Just to name a few. I would NOT trade off any of the afore mentioned Remingtons for love nor money.
Just because an item is discontinued from a manufacturers line up does not mean said products are automatically un-worthy.
In fact I hope Remington keeps adding to their decades long lineup of innovative arms and cartridges. Long live Big Green. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy. Originally Posted by ltppowell.

This was my first purchase with them and I will definitely buy again from them. I bought a Colt that I had been looking for a while. I had it in my favorites and low and behold one day it appeared. The order process was clear. I had a question along the way and I called and the person I talked to was R Robert T.
Fast shipment on my shotgun. Having shot enough 7mm and never seen one not very, very accurate it's based off the. Aug 31, I'm familiar with the triangle vtr version, but I don't know whether Remington is button rifling or hammer forging these triangle barrels.
Forging only can be what the mandrel is, but can have other issues as well. Something is wrong with a gun that won't shoot most anything, suited to the twist rate, much better than "pie plate" size groups. If it were my gun, I'd re-crown it, if a good evaluation doesn't turn up another obvious problem. Does your smith have a bore scope? This can tell if the barrel has any obvious flaws, and give a great view of the crown.
It may simply show that the barrel is fouled terribly. By all means, clean it better than you ever have, then look at it with a bore scope. It will amaze you. MetcalfecountyHunter , Aug 31, Sep 1, The XHR may be discontinued haven't looked into that yet, but the same barrelled action is used for the VTR and they're still going strong.
