Why does my smoothie foamy

This would be a better answer if you summarized the technique rather than just linking to it. All right. I updated my answer with a relevant quote from the link. The video from that link is especially helpful for seeing the technique and, tried it this morning and got nearly the same result, and a much better smoothie. Glad I could help! Enjoy your smoothie. Add a tablespoon or two of chia seeds - they magically eliminate the froth.

Two major sources of foam are 1 air whipped into bubbles, and 2 insoluble fiber. For problem 2, you can Reduce the sources of insoluble fiber leaves, peels, apples Add some soluble fiber sources for a creamier mouthfeel bananas, mangoes Add some oil to pop some of the bubbles.

Question feed. They will dissolve and blend into the rest of the smoothie no worries, and not float up to the surface. Some fruity examples are bananas, mangoes, peaches, and pears. Broccoli and avocados are also examples that you can incorporate into different smoothie recipes. Another technique you can commit to is using just frozen fruits to make your smoothies.

These frozen fruits have better solubility, even the fibers from the skin. Some healthy fats you can consider are flax or chia seeds, avocado, nut butter, and coconut oil. They will all help your smoothie sit nicely.

The truth is a lot can go wrong when making a smoothie and a lot more can be done to make it better. Here are some other common issues that people face as smoothie virgins. Some people encounter extra watery smoothies, which taste and feel more like juice. To fix this, you can add a thicker liquid such as yogurt, milk, or even nut butter. No foam at all.

I put in my milk or water, PB2 powder, sugar free syrups and some ice cubes and they are perfect. Give one a try, I think you will like it much better. It can handle warm stuff, I would not put something scalding hot in, anyway most protein powders are not heat stable. I have a dispenser on my fridge and it makes the crushed ice so I use that. They work awesome.

I make mine at night before I go to bed and let it sit in the frig overnight. Then in the morning it's not so frothy. I still shake it up because it's settled, but it's not as bad as it was right after I made it. The only issue with this is most protein powders break down over time once they are mixed.

If you contact the companies, most will tell you that they should be consumed within 30 minutes to get the most nutritional value from them. There are a couple things you can do.

First, you can try different brands of protein powder. All will make some foam in the blender, but some make a lot more than others. Syntrax Nectar is really bad. Chike is not as bad. You can use a powder that dissolves well without putting it in the blender. You can shake it in a shaker cup or just stir it with a spoon. Of course, if you want to put frozen fruit or something in it, it works better in the blender. But even then, you could blend the frozen fruit, then pour it in the glass with the protein powder and stir with a spoon.

I find some brands don't mix very well with a spoon and do better in the blender, but some brands are fine just stirred with a spoon. If you let the shake sit in the fridge for a bit, some of the foam will go away.

Stirring the foamy shake with a spoon also helps the foam dissipate. I bought 3 smaller single serve ones and throw my chike in and shake for about 10 secs. Good to go and no foam. If possible try not to over blend. Just "pulse" it until it is mixed, this may minimize the foam. You shouldn't let the protein shake sit after blending it Like a few other people said, look into the Blender Bottle. I have one, but I typically used a Magic Bullet.

The trick is not putting the protein powder in until the last couple of seconds. I guess Im the only goofy one that likes the foamy shake - it doesn't even cause me gas problems.

Love my shakes!!!! I don't have a mustache hahaha but get my milk mustache after I enjoy my blended protein drink!!!
